Department of Education honors community partners

INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — On June 2, Commissioner of Education Pam Stewart honored district community partners MIDFLORIDA Credit Union and Community Credit Union along with nearly 50 Florida business partners in education with the Commissioner’s Business Recognition Awards.

The awards were made during the Florida Chamber Foundation Education Summit in Orlando.

“We had the pleasure of recognizing two wonderful organizations who support our work,” said Superintendent Dr. Mark Rendell. “As a small gesture of gratitude for a large contribution toward our success. I want publicly thank MIDFLORIDA Credit Union and Community Credit Union for all that they do.”

The Commissioner’s Business Recognition Awards, presented by Wells Fargo, are administered by the Florida Department of Education and the Florida Education Foundation to encourage successful alliances within the business community and among local school districts for the benefit of Florida’s students.
