Fay Hallene Kicia, 68, Sebastian
Fay Hallene Kicia, 68, of Sebastian, passed away on April 3, 2016.
She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Robert Kicia; daughters Erin (John) Goheen and Michelle (Ryan) Fisher; step-mother Edith Hallene of Rhode Island; two sisters, Patricia (Doug) LeVasseur and Mary Hallene (Eddie Ferriera) of Massachusetts; three brothers, Jim Hallene (Julie) of Connecticut, Oscar Hallene (Carol) of Ohio, and Paul Hallene (Linda) of Rhode Island; and a myriad friends.
Kicia was originally from North Kingstown, R.I., and a member of the 1965 high school graduating class. She was a dental hygienist until retiring after 32 years of practice. She was passionate about her patients and enjoyed working with special needs individuals.
During her lifetime, Kicia was a vivacious and free spirited individual, an avid golfer who also enjoyed fishing, playing cards, reading, live theater and above all else loved socializing with friends and family.
She believed strongly in the Golden Rule of life and lived that way daily. She was a straightforward lady with a positive and quick-witted approach in her everyday words and actions.
Kicia consistently prompted others to think for themselves and challenge the world around them. One of her favorite sayings was, “If you’re not part of the solution, you’re part of the problem,” and she emulated that throughout her lifetime. Her strong-minded style will not soon be forgotten for those who were fortunate enough to call her family or friend.
A Celebration of Life will be held in her honor on Friday, April 22, 2016 at Seawinds Funeral Home in Sebastian at 12 p.m. Anyone wishing to send a message or share a story is asked to visit Fay’s memorial page at www.seawindsfh.com.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Special Olympics. at: www.specialolympics.org
