Waste Management donates $25,000 to United Way

INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — Waste Management presented the United Way with a check for $25,000 at the Indian River County Board of Commissioners meeting March 15.

“Healthy thriving communities depend on involved corporate partners for momentum,” said Amy Boyson, Community Affairs Manager at Waste Management. “United Way of Indian River County provides an abundance of services for the citizens of this county and we are thrilled about our partnership. We trust these dollars will be used to better Indian River County.”

“United Way supports a network of basic services in this community for critical needs, but more than a quick fix, we’re also committed to giving people the tools they need to stand on their own tomorrow,” explained United Way CEO, Michael Kint. “We’re certainly grateful that Waste Management has the confidence in us to make this significant gift.”

It takes everyone in the community working together to create a brighter future. United Way’s online volunteer connection provides a link for individuals, families, teams, and corporate groups to engage in meaningful volunteer opportunities throughout Indian River County.

From motivating children to discover and learn, to serving hot meals to low-income families, Indian River County residents are responding to critical needs. Find volunteer opportunities at www.VolunteerIndianRiverCounty.org and learn more about United Way at www.UnitedWayIRC.org .
