EXPIRED – TORNADO WARNING: Southeast Indian River County

INDIAN RIVER COUNTY – A Tornado Warning has been issued for southeast Indian River County.

Weather spotters reported a funnel cloud within a severe thunderstorm that is moving northeast at 35 mph.

Residents are encouraged to take shelter as quickly as possible. The warning is scheduled to remain until 1:30 p.m.

* AT 1254 PM EST…A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM CAPABLE OF PRODUCING A TORNADO WAS LOCATED OVER VERO BEACH…MOVING NORTHEAST AT 30 MPH.

HAZARD…TORNADO AND QUARTER SIZE HAIL.

SOURCE…WEATHER SPOTTERS REPORTED FUNNEL CLOUD.

IMPACT…FLYING DEBRIS WILL BE DANGEROUS TO THOSE CAUGHT WITHOUT SHELTER. MOBILE HOMES WILL BE DAMAGED OR DESTROYED.

DAMAGE TO ROOFS…WINDOWS…AND VEHICLES WILL OCCUR. TREE DAMAGE IS LIKELY.
