Authorities nab County couple on cocaine charges

INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — An Indian River County couple is in jail on cocaine related charges after a search warrant of their home yielded drugs, cash and paraphernalia, according to the arrest report.

Deon Phillips, 33, of 4565 33rd Ave., Vero Beach is facing seven felony charges for possession of cocaine, possession of cocaine with the intent to sell, and selling cocaine.

He is being held in the Indian River County Jail in Lieu of $165,000 bond.

His girlfriend, Kymisha Harris, 28, of 1545 41st Ave., Vero Beach, is facing five total felony charges for possession of cocaine and possession of cocaine with the intent to sell.

She is being held in the Indian River County Jail in lieu of $65,000 bond.

A confidential informant completed a transaction for cocaine with both defendants several months ago, according to the arrest report.

On Feb. 17, at 5:45 a.m., a S.W.A.T. team executed a search warrant at Phillips’ 33rd Avenue home where Harris stays with him, the report shows.

Authorities found 3.5 grams of crack cocaine, 41.2 grams of an unknown substance and more than $8,800 in cash.

Phillips and Harris had previous warrants out for their arrest and were detained on the spot.
