INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — On Feb. 8, listeners of public radio station Christian FM, (WSCF-FM 91.9 FM Vero Beach 96.3 Port St Lucie) will wake up to the beginning of the annual five-day pledge drive called Care-a-thon.
Christian FM signed on the air on Feb. 1, 1990, as the first Contemporary Christian station on Florida’s Atlantic coast. Since then it has grown to six broadcast frequencies along Florida’s east coast and a large online community of listeners around the world.
In addition, Christian FM serves as the flagship station of the Christian FM Radio Network, which presently serves more than 200 Christian radio stations across America with faith-based programming produced in Vero Beach.
Christian FM reaches families and individuals with encouraging words and faith-filled Christian music. Listeners often say, “Positive and uplifting” best describes the sound of Christian FM.
As a non-profit, non-commercial radio station, Christian FM holds its primary fundraiser every year in February. The station relies on support from the community to stay on the air. This year Care-a-thon will be held on Feb. 8-12.
