Buzz TV Art Gallery displays Cuban artist’s work through February

VERO BEACH — The newest art gallery in downtown Vero Beach is bringing a Cuban perspective to this month’s first Friday Art Stroll. The successful showing of work by Cuban born and educated Amarilis Veliz Diepa is being extended through February in order for more winter visitors to see artist’s work.

The Buzz TV Art Gallery on 14th Avenue in Vero Beach brings art and technology together under one roof, with both open house receptions and online video programming as ways to discover new emerging artists.

The Buzz TV Art Gallery participates in the first Friday Art Stroll each month and is open most weekends with special events that provide an opportunity to meet with the current visiting artist.

Amarilis Veliz Diepa has received multiple awards and first place honors in major art competitions worldwide. She has also become a highly recognized art instructor in her native Cuba and has works on permanent display at the Vatican in Italy.

Diepa was born in Las Tunas, Cuba, in 1957, and has studied and taught at most major art institutions in Havana. Her works are included in private collections throughout Europe and South America. The themes she incorporates emphasize religious symbolism and visual references.

The Buzz TV Art Gallery and TV Studio is located at the north end of Vero’s bustling Arts District and is directly across from the City’s bright yellow landmark, the historic Railroad Station.

Programs featuring the visiting artist can be seen at ArtBuzzTV.com and on VeroBuzzTV, the area’s local TV Station on the Internet. The artwork will also be the featured backdrop for local TV programs recorded at the Studio, including the Marcia Littlejohn program, and Arts in Depth hosted by Council on the Arts Chairperson Barbara Hoffman.

While exhibiting at the Buzz TV Art Gallery, Diepa has created new works that will be on display throughout February. The Gallery and TV Studio is located in Suite 5, at 2345 14th Avenue, Vero Beach. The public is invited to an opening reception from 5 to 8 p.m on Friday, Feb. 5.
