Atlantic Classical Orchestra to hold “Harp & Harmony” concert Dec. 8

INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — The Atlantic Classical Orchestra (ACO) will present its 4th Annual Benefit Concert, Harp & Harmony, on Tuesday, Dec. 8, at 4:30 p.m. at Orchid Island Beach Club in Vero Beach.

Showcasing the multi-faceted nature of one of the world’s most ancient instruments, harpist Bridget Kibbey will present an intimate yet virtuosic showcase of the harp’s expressive voice with special guest, ACO’s principal flutist Tina Burr Apelgren. The program includes works by Bach, Bartok, Debussy, Saint-Saëns and newly-commissioned pieces by Latin American composers.

Hosted by the Vero Friends of the ACO, the fourth annual benefit concert will kick off the 26th concert season in Vero Beach. Next year promises to be exciting with the introduction of four internationally renowned conductors to the audiences in Vero Beach, Stuart & Palm Beach Gardens. The four finalists who were chosen from a pool of 125 applicants, will each conduct one of the Masterworks concert series, and one will be chosen at the end of the season to be the new Music Director of the ACO.

“The Vero Friends of the ACO are delighted to have Bridget Kibbey and our very own ACO flutist Tina Burr Apelgren performing in December,” said Jean Beckert, Vero Friends’ president. “It’s exciting to launch the ACO season with Harp and Harmony, our Fourth Annual Benefit Concert and Reception at the beautiful Orchid Island Beach Club.
