George William DeMontigny, 83, of Vero Beach and Enfield, Conn., passed away on Nov. 15, 2015.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 59 years, Shirley; his children Richard (AnnMarie) of No. Attleboro, Mass., Thomas (MaryEllen) of Enfield, Conn., David of Agawam, Mass., Karen DeMontigny of Mechanicsburg, Penn., and Michelle Fauteux of Vero Beach; eight grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
He was predeceased by his brother, Robert DeMontigny.
DeMontigny was born in Springfield, Mass., on June 26, 1932 to Leo and Irene DeMontigny, and lived his youth in Longmeadow, Mass. He served in the Navy from 1951 thru 1955, married his wife Shirley (Dickinson) DeMontigny in 1956 and graduated from Michigan State University in 1960.
He raised his family in Enfield, Conn., and worked for Sweet Life Foods for 32 years, retiring in 1994. He and Shirley became Snow Birds between Enfield, Conn., and Vero Beach.
He will be remembered for his sense of humor and willingness to help everyone. Family was his pride and joy. His values and life lessons will be cherished always.
