INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — The Cloudwalker Dojo recently received a cash contribution from TD Bank, America’s Most Convenient Bank, through the bank’s Affinity Membership Program.
TD Bank donated $150 to The Cloudwalker. The money will help fund the youth karate program which takes place Tuesday and Thursday evenings at the Cloudwalker Dojo. The Cloudwalker partners with area non-profits whose youth participate in karate. Instruction, healthy snacks and gi (karate uniforms) are provided free of charge, which are all made possible from generous volunteers, donations and sponsorships from the community.
Karate not only sharpens physical skills but also improves self-esteem, motivation, self-discipline, grades, integrity, and leadership abilities. Sensei John Walcott and his staff have worked with children for more than 30 years and have helped them reach their goals and deal with the many challenges and opportunities faced in life. The Cloudwalker offers qi-gong, capoeira, hula dancing as well as karate programs to youth and adults in the community.
TD Bank’s Affinity Membership Program helps non-profit organizations raise money by receiving an annual cash contribution from TD Bank based upon the average deposit balance held by the non-profit’s participating members.
