INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — A residency complaint brought against School Board member Shawn Frost has been put to rest after nearly a year of investigations by the Florida Elections Commission.
Frost unseated Karen Disney-Brombach from the District 1 seat in elections last year. But Disney-Brombach’s husband, Bob Brombach, filed a complaint accusing Frost of faking residency at a home on 77th Street while retaining his home located in District 3.
School Board candidates are required by law to reside in the District he or she is running.
“Did I move here to win this race?” Frost asked, referring to the 77th Street home. “Yes. Absolutely. The stakes are so high” Frost told VeroNews.com last year.
“Commission staff has interviewed multiple witnesses and reviewed numerous documents and sworn affidavits, all of which substantiate [Frost’s] position that he is currently residing in District 1” according to an official report.
“I just want to thank everyone who prayed for and stood by my family and I as we have endured this year-long nightmare of politically motivated harassment.” Frost wrote in an article posted to his website. “It is important to note that I was not only cleared of any wrongdoing, but was cleared of any suspicion of wrongdoing,” he added.
