She is survived by her two children, son Richard D MacLeod (Becky) of Fort Pierce and a daughter Gayle A.M MacLeod Ashfield and (Lee A.); and loving friend Patricia A. Dooley (Aunty Patty); 12 grandchildren, Lisa Fisher of Massachusetts, Kimberley Randall of Vero Beach, Patricia Lothrop of Vero Beach, Jennifer Ciampa of White City, Fla., Rich Haley of California, Brad Smith of Colorado, Christine Bartlett Holmes of New Hampshire, Nick Compston of Manchester, Conn., Kelly White of Port St. Lucie, Connor Macleod of Fort Pierce, and Robin Ashley Kelly of Maine; 13 great-grandchildren, Christopher Fisher, Daniel Doran, Ashley Lothrop, Adam Fisher, Cassidy Lothrop, Aiden Smith, Isaiah Santos, Madyson MacLeod, Dominic Ciampa, Dylan MacLeod, Skylar MacLeod, Akira Smith and Lyric White.

MacLeod was born on Jan. 22, 1919, in Devon, Conn., and was an only child. She was married to her husband the late Edward S MacLeod of Squantum, Mass.

The MacLeods built their home in Squantum Mass., both worked very hard for their family. Muriel worked out of the home but always had a five course meal on the dinner table for her children. She started working at Proctor & Gamble in the Lab, and there is where she met her best friend Nellie Lyons. She became a caregiver to her stepfather Morton, her mother Mary Kish Cole and her husband Edward S. MacLeod. She took care of all of us.

She enjoyed the ocean, swimming, and reading. She loved the beauty of the nature when she would go camping with her family. She also enjoyed antiquing and visiting garage sales on the weekends. MacLeod loved life, she had a contagious smile that would light up the room when you saw her. What she enjoyed most was the love and comfort of all her family and loved ones.

The MacLeod family would like to send out a special THANK YOU to the VNA Hospice House of Vero Beach, they were with Muriel every step of her journey.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m., Monday, June 29, 2015 at Cox-Gifford-Seawinds Funeral Home in Vero Beach. Online condolences may be made at www.coxgiffordseawinds.com.
