Indian River State College Advanced Technology Division holds open house June 18

INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — The Indian River State College Advanced Technology Division is hosting an Electrical Power Technology Open House Thursday, June 18, at 6 p.m.

Anyone interested in learning more about rewarding career options in industrial instrumentation controls and electrical can attend this open house at the Kight Center for Emerging Technologies in room V110. The Kight Center is located at the Indian River State College Main Campus at 3209 Virginia Avenue in Fort Pierce just off the 35th Street side of the campus.

A new group of students will start in the Electrical Power Technology program in August 2015. Students starting this August will be able to graduate in May 2017 with an Associate in Science degree in less than two years. Classes in the program are held twice a week from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

These students will be equipped with the skills of Instrumentation – Controls and Electrical – which will enable them to obtain a high wage job in power plants as well as in any utility or industrial processing plant including food and beverage, pulp and paper, mining, chemical, petrochemical, fresh and waste water treatment.
