There is nothing like a drive out west on a beautiful day. Especially conducive to a road trip are the roads around Pointe West, one of the most thoughtfully designed developments built in Vero in recent years, reflecting many of the principles of New Urbanism. A stately drive leads from 74th Avenue past the clubhouse and a number of traditional-looking houses to reach this week’s featured home at 7565 South Village Square.
The front of house has a classic Americana look with square white columns a picket porch rail and brick porch and front walk. The lovely shaded front porch is the just the spot for cocktails on a pleasant night. It leads into the grand foyer, by way of a tall dark wood door with impact-resistant etched glass.
The foyer is large enough for grand round table with a huge floral arrangement on it, sitting right under the chandelier. The current owner, a bachelor, had a ping pong table in the entry hall, and, with its high ceilings and tile floors, it was the perfect spot.

Maria Calderone, a realtor with Norris & Company, knows this house inside and out, because she and her father built it in 2006. She walks around the house pointing out all of the fantastic features and finishes.
“It’s an executive home with valuable upgrades not [usually] found in houses in this price range,” said Calderone.
The layout features a split floor plan, with a twist. One side of the house consists of the common areas, with walls painted a sunny yellow, including a great room, along with a separate dining area that flows into the luxuriously equipped kitchen with a breakfast nook overlooking golfers and polo players.

Calderone, who lives in a house with this floor plan, explained how every Christmas Eve, she entertains 80 people.
“This is a great house for entertaining,” she said. “I just clear out the furniture from the great room and set up buffet tables. People can get their food and then there are enough places to sit, relax and converse.”
Cutting through the back porch, there are more French doors leading into the master suite, which has tall windows adorned by perfectly proportioned curtains, and another view of the lake.
The master bathroom is spacious and sparkling, with pale tile floors, creamy cabinets, a walk-in shower and a jetted Jacuzzi bathtub. Two sinks and counters enable a couple to get ready stress-free. Exquisite light fixtures give this master bath an almost palatial feel.
In the hallway of the master suite are two deluxe-sized closets, so the bedroom can stay uncluttered. Overhead lighting adds to the affluent atmosphere.
There is plenty of room for a pool in the backyard, and there is an outdoor patio for nights that mosquitoes and no-see-ums stay away.
A house as luxurious as this is an incredible value at $439,000, and this is one of those neighborhoods where you can send your kids out to play and know they are safe.
