VERO BEACH — Main Street Vero Beach is proud to have Sharon Morgan as the June guest artist of the month.
S.E. Morgan is an acrylic painter and mixed media artist creating works with social, political or personal commentary. Her art career began with decades of freelance sign, prop and set design while continuing to explore her painting. Attending college in the 60s and 70s, she was encouraged to “make a statement” with her art by her professors and she focuses primarily on social issues.
In 2000, she completed a series of mandalas, each representing one decade of 20th Century American History to celebrate the Millennium. This series, called “A Kaleidoscopic View of the 20th Century,” received the Millennium Cultural Recognition Award from the State of Florida.
This series of 10 mandalas containing symbolism representing significant social and political events in each decade will be on exhibit at Main Street Studios through the month of June.
In addition to her painting, she is an arts advocate and owner of SE Morgan Design specializing in website design for visual, literary and performing artists as well as non-profit arts organizations and creative entrepreneurs. Contact Sharon by E-mail [email protected].
