PHOTOS: Relay for Life event brings HOPE to hundreds

The message was HOPE for the hundreds of cancer survivors, caregivers and supporters who gathered at the Vero Beach High School Citrus Bowl for this year’s Carnival-themed Relay for Life of Indian River County.

In the sole overnight relay in the county this year, participants, led by survivors, began the event Friday evening and had at least one team member on the track throughout the night, illuminated by a bright full moon overhead and a luminaria lit message of HOPE in the stands.

Money raised supports cancer research, education and prevention programs.
