Blue Star Bourbon Bar celebrates Kentucky Derby, supports Special Equestrians May 2

VERO BEACH — Join Blue Star Bourbon Bar at their new location to enjoy $4 Mint Julips and fun derby fare while watching the Kentucky Derby on Saturday, May 2 from 5 p.m. until close, offering 10 percent of each check to the Special Equestrians of the Treasure Coast.

Founded in 1992, the Special Equestrians provides therapeutic horseback riding for children and adults who suffer from autism, Down syndrome, cerebral palsy, spina bifida, strokes, diabetes and other conditions affecting muscles and speech. The special, older horses understand their role in building patience, self-esteem, flexibility and muscle strength.

Since a small fee is associated with each rider, donations are always welcomed. Spring session starts this month and each 45 minute long session costs only $20 billable at the end of each month. For those looking to get involved please call (772) 562-7603.

Blue Star Bourbon Bar is proud to team up with the Special Equestrians for the 3rd year in a row having given the organization thousands since the collaboration started. Coming in festive hats and attire are encouraged; the annual hat contest will take place at 6 p.m. with prizes for the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners. Drink and food specials will last all night. Join in the fun starting at 5 p.m. at 2227 14th Ave, Vero Beach.
