UPDATE: Pedestrians released from hospital, recovering after crash

VERO BEACH — The two elderly pedestrians who were struck in a parking lot on Ocean Drive last week are recovering, according to the Vero Beach Police Department.

The pedestrians, identified as Brian and Corinne Goodman, have been released from the hospital and are expected to recover from their injuries.

The driver, identified as Michael Branch, 57, has not been cited for the collision, pending the outcome of the ongoing investigation.

VERO BEACH — The Vero Beach Police Department is investigating a crash that involved a driver and two pedestrians in a parking lot on Ocean Drive Thursday afternoon.

The pedestrians, ages 87 and 84, were taken by ambulance to Lawnwood Regional Medical Center to be treated for injuries, according to Vero police. The extent of their injuries was not released.

The driver, who was not identified nor age released, was traveling in reverse in a Mercedes SUV through the parking lot located at 1441 Ocean Drive, when the vehicle collided with the pedestrians.

Authorities are continuing their investigation into the crash. Citations are pending the outcome of the investigation, according to police.
