VERO BEACH — Vero Beach prepares to welcome back Israeli violin sensation, Daniel Askerov, when he joins string standouts from the Space Coast Symphony for Tchaikovsky’s Fifth at 7 p.m. on Saturday, March 21, at the Vero Beach Performing Arts Center, 1707 16th Street, 32960.
Askerov and company will be performing Concerto for String Quartet & Orchestra by Louis Spohr, a piece filled with lush sonorities and lyrical intensity. Askerov will be playing a Carlo Antonio Testore 1733 violin.
Tchaikovsky’s famed Symphony No. 5 fills the second half of the program. After a period of depression and self-doubt, Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky finished his massive fifth symphony in August of 1888. Considered the most pure, unified and “Russian” of all his symphonies, Tchaikovsky’s Fifth is a cathartic masterpiece of sorrow, joy, passion, and triumph.
Tickets are on sale for $20 in advance through the orchestra website at www.SpaceCoastSymphony.org or at several convenient ticket outlets, including Marine Bank & Trust (beachside and mainland branches) and Madison Avenue Consignments.
Tickets at the door are $25. The performance is free for those aged 18 and under or with a college student ID. Call toll free to (855) 252-7276 for more information.
Space Coast Symphony Orchestra Artistic Director, Aaron T. Collins is pleased to welcome Daniel Askerov back to Central Florida.
“Daniel is a one-of-a-kind artist,” said Collins. “His reputation around the world continues to grow and we are always honored when he makes the trip to Central Florida to perform for our audiences.”
