Friends of North IRC Library shows ‘Southwest China’ Jan. 29

SEBASTIAN — The film “Southwest China” will be shown by the Friends of the North Indian River County Library on Thursday, Jan. 29, from 3 to 4 p.m. in the library meeting room.

Join Justine Shapiro as she travels through Southwest China from the region of Guangxi to the provinces of Guizhou, Yunnan, and Sichuan. She visits remote villages as well as cities, traveling by bicycle, motorcycle, train, sleeper bus, longboat, horse and cart, airplane, horseback and tractor. She samples local food, stays in primitive homes, tries acupuncture for traveling illnesses, and meets many Chinese people and a couple of pandas along the way.

Admission is free and open to the public. The library is located at 1001 Sebastian Boulevard, three miles west of US 1. For more information call the Library at (772) 589-1355.
