Keep Indian River Beautiful seeks ‘Environmental Hero’ nominations

INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — Keep Indian River Beautiful is seeking nominations from the community of people who are true environmental heroes.

Anyone who knows an individual who takes going green to the extreme, or a company going the extra mile to reduce its carbon footprint, should consider placing a nomination for the environmental hero with Keep Indian River Beautiful Keep Indian River Beautiful.

The organization is seeking public nominations of clubs, businesses, individuals and youth that have completed green initiatives in 2014. Recognize a neighbor, friend, or favorite business for their outstanding efforts to improve the community and environment.

The Keep Indian River Beautiful Awards Luncheon will be held Thursday, Feb. 26, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Oak Harbor.

Nominations can be for ongoing initiatives or one time projects in the areas of litter prevention/removal, beautification, habitat restoration, waste reduction, and reducing the carbon footprint. It can be the person seen cleaning the beach as they walk every day or a company converting to bio-fuel. Keep Indian River Beautiful wants to recognize these efforts that help make the community and environment the beautiful place the community loves.
