Local artist donates painting to library for drawing

INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — Local artist R.A. Woodall has donated the painting “Island Paradise” to the Friends of the North Indian River County Library, a 501c3 non-profit organization.

A drawing for the 15” x 22” painting will be held after the Library Coffee House on Friday, March 6, 2015, at 9 p.m., at the North Indian River County Library, located at 1001 Sebastian Boulevard in Sebastian. Tickets for the drawing may be obtained at the library. No purchase or contribution is necessary, but the suggested minimum donation is $2 per ticket or six for $10.

Monies collected by the Friends are used to provide additional resources, equipment and programs for the library beyond the scope of the County budget.

“Island Paradise,” an imaginary place, by R.A. Woodall, is a 15-inch by 22-inch original watercolor on Arches 300 coldpress paper with Crescent acid-free matboard and Efamle framing

Woodall grew up in the small town of Chesapeake City, with a love of all things to do with saltwater. Having made many coastal trips, north and south from New Brunswick to Key West, he has no problem finding fun subjects for his watercolor painting. He and his wife Donna found another small town, Sebastian, to be the perfect tropical match to their town in the north. Their home and studio in the Roseland scrub has given them a wonderful sense of place.
