2 arrested in Fellsmere found with powder on noses

FELLSMERE — Two men were arrested in Fellsmere Saturday after they were discovered with a white powder on their noses, which turned out to be cocaine, according to the Fellsmere Police Department.

Two Fellsmere Police officers saw the men, identified as Michael Diaz, 22, and Victor Garcia, 21, in the vicinity of S. Elm Street and Massachusetts Avenue, in a poorly lit area near the woods there.

The officers approached the men and engaged in conversation, during which they noticed the powder on the men’s noses, according to authorities.

The men were “snorting a lot” and Garcia was described as “moving his jaw rapidly from left to right,” the report states.

During the encounter, the officers determined the men had recently snorted cocaine. The officers then searched the men and found them to be in possession of small plastic baggies containing cocaine.

The men were then placed under arrest and each faces a charge of cocaine possession. They have since been released from the Indian River County Jail on $1,500 bond.
