Indian River Metropolitan Planning Organization to hold 2040 Scenarios Public Workshop, Nov. 21

INDIAN RIVER — As is required by federal law, the Indian River Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) is in the process of updating its multimodal long range transportation plan for the community.

A workshop open to the public regarding the transportation plan is scheduled for Nov. 21, from 10 to 11:30 a.m. in County Administration Building B, Conference Room B1-501, 1800 27th Street, Vero Beach.

In 2040, it is projected that 200,000 people will live in Indian River County, 60,000 more people than live in the County today. Where will they live? Where will they work? How will getting around the community be different in 2040 than today? The MPO needs help in answering these and other questions.

Anyone interested in the future of transportation in Indian River County, please plan to attend this workshop. The MPO wants to hear from the community so that the organization can incorporate the public’s ideas, goals and values into its plan.
