Domenica ‘Mae’ Piumelli, 90, Vero Beach

Domenica “Mae” Piumelli, 90, of Vero Beach, passed away peacefully on Nov. 5, 2014, after a long vibrant life.

She is survived by her daughter, Marilyn Piumelli Petrosa; sons, Fred (Dianna) Piumelli, Nicholas Vincent (Lori) Piumelli, Jr., Michael Patrick Piumelli; sister, Concetta (Anthony) Guerriero; brothers, Vincent (Loretta) Abbate and Rocco (Nancy) Abbate; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband, Nicholas Vincent Piumelli and her daughter, Jacqueline Piumelli Napolitano.

She was born March 13, 1924, in New York City and had been a resident of Vero Beach for 36 years. Piumelli was a member of St. Helen Catholic Church. She enjoyed her friends and family, gardened daily and was an inspiration to many.

A visitation will be held Saturday, Nov. 8, from 2-4 p.m., and 7-9 p.m., and again Sunday, Nov. 9, from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at Cox Gifford Seawinds Funeral Home, Vero Beach.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10 a.m., Monday, Nov. 10, at St. Helen Catholic Church followed by burial at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Ft. Pierce. An online guestbook may be signed at www.coxgiffordseawinds.com.
