7th Annual Dancing with Vero’s Stars scheduled for May 9

VERO BEACH — The Indian River County Healthy Start Coalition and Riverside Theatre are partnering once more as they present the 7th Annual Dancing with Vero’s Stars. It will be held at the theatre on Saturday, May 9, 2015, as one of the final events of the 2015 social season.

“Our partnership with Riverside Theatre continues to be a win-win for both of our non-profit organizations and we are all looking forward to meeting our new cast of dancers and instructors as we move forward with our plans” said Kathie Cain, Executive Director of IRC Healthy Start Coalition.

Jon Moses, Riverside Theatre’s Managing Director agreed. “One of our missions is to assist in the personal development of the individual child through performance and education. Being able to produce this amazing event for the community is an honor for us. Our production staff has been putting together ideas since the dancing show closed our season in May, so we can all look forward to an even better experience this go around.”

The event, chaired by Board member Brenda Lloyd and Board President Glenn Tremml, both star dancers in previous competitions, will once again offer an evening of tempting tangos, sizzling salsas and jiving jitterbugs, along with some new or unexpected twists and surprises. It will be performed by ten local stars matched with professional dance instructors. The event will also showcase the dancers during a stylish Red Carpet arrival, an entertaining cocktail party and silent auction.

Star dancers, paired with their instructors, will train for a minimum of 20 hours over several months and gather community votes in advance of the evening on the website, www.Dancingwithverostars.com (now under construction) and then later at the dance competition itself. Each $1 raised will equate to a vote for the dancer.

All dancers will be judged on 50% money raised for Healthy Start Coalition and 50% based on their dancing skills. The official announcement of the 2015 star dancers paired with their professional dance instructors will be made in mid-November following the official Meet and Greet mixer.
