Indialantic Chamber Singers travel ‘Around the World in 80 Minutes,’ Oct. 12

VERO BEACH — Led by its new artistic director, Ryan Kasten, the Indialantic Chamber Singers will kick off their 15th performing season by going “Around the World in 80 Minutes” at 4 p.m. on Sunday afternoon, Oct. 12, at the Community Church of Vero Beach, 1901 23rd Street, 32960.

Kasten, Associate Director of Music for the Community Church of Vero Beach, was selected as the permanent conductor of the Indialantic Chamber Singers at the conclusion of its 2013-14 Season.

He will direct the professional quality singers in a topsy-turvy musical tour with stops in Japan, Africa, Poland, Spain, Brazil, Israel and the USA. The performance will feature several international folk songs and a Japanese poem, as well as numbers performed a cappella (without musical accompaniment).

Long considered Brevard’s premier choral ensemble, the Indialantic Chamber Singers’ concerts are presented free of charge, with donations gratefully accepted. President Tony Spadafora appreciates the Indialantic Chamber Singers growing fan base in Vero Beach as they enter their 15th anniversary season.

“Ryan Kasten has crafted an exceptionally beautiful fall program for the Chamber Singers,” said Spadafora, who is also a baritone with the group. “We’re kicking off our 15th year with a Vero Beach program of diverse cultural pieces that feature lush harmonies. It’s what we do best.”
