Donald Bessette, 92, of Vero Beach, passed away on Sept. 28, 2014.
He is survived by his wife Loretta N. Bessette; daughters Susan Petrie, Jane Bessette, and Linda Anne Bessette; grandchildren Brett Petrie, Kyle Petrie, and Tara Jane Bessette; and beloved nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his late wife Jane Bessette and siblings Mary Boldt, Donalda White, Claire Drainville and Paul Bessette.
He was born to Joseph and Evangeline (Otto) Bessette, on July 12, 1922. He was a native of Rhode Island residing in Vero Beach.
Bessette was a World War II veteran, and United States Coast Guard in the European Theatre of Operations. He worked 38 years at New England Telephone Co. as an engineer and manager. ‘
A funeral and Catholic Mass at Saint Romuald, in Matunuck, R. I. will be held on Oct. 2. Internment will take place at the Veterans Memorial Cemetery Exeter, R.I. Memorials may be made to Hyperthermia Assoc.
