VERO BEACH — The Vero Beach Fighting Indians Girls Lacrosse’ State Championship streak remains unbroken. The team beat Ponte Vedra 13 to 6 over the weekend, clinching their ninth straight state title.
Vero Beach ended the season with a 21-3 record. Ponte Vedra’s season was 19-4.
To date, the Girls Lacrosse team has won 128 games against Florida opponents. The three losses were out-of-state games against nationally ranked teams.
Ponte Vedra led Vero Beach twice during the State Championship game, but Vero Beach ultimately took the lead and held on to win.
