Ernest Jervis, 85, of Vero Beach, passed away on April 20, 2014.

Jervis was born and raised in Norfolk, Va., and lived in Vero Beach for 23 years after coming from Montana.
He retired from the U.S. Air Force. During his service, he served two four-year terms in France at the headquarters, “Allied Air Forces Central Europe,” (AAFCE). He was superintendent of police and security for Gen. Lauris Norstad.
After retirement, he worked for Boeing Aircraft during the installation of the “Minuteman II” missile project in Great Falls, Mont. He also worked for the “Montana Department of Labor and Industry” for a long period.
His passions, during the 28 years he and his family stayed in Montana, were hunting, fishing, and camping. His preference was packing back into the high country by horseback, and his concentration was directed to big game, like moose, elk, deer, and bear, found in the Montana wilderness.
