Dogs For Life to host ‘Treasure Hunt Car Rally’

VERO BEACH — Dogs For Life is sponsoring a Treasure Hunt Car Rally on Saturday, April 26, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. A mandatory driver and navigator meeting will be held at 9 a.m. at the start line. The starting line will be at the DFL Dog Training Campus at 1230 16th Ave., Vero Beach.

Participants will be given a treasure map they will follow throughout Indian River County.

Drivers will finish at the Heritage Center at 2130 14th Ave. in downtown Vero Beach, where they will have a finish line party, prizes and lunch catered by Osceola Bistro.

First prize is $5,000, second prize is $2,500 and third prize is $1,500. There will also be a 50/50 raffle, a silent auction, entertainment and demonstrations by Dogs For Life Assistance Dogs and the Indian River County Sheriff’s K-9 Units.

Silent auction items will include tours of John & Kathi Schumann’s private race car collection, race car rides with Kathi G. Schumann, annual membership to the DFL Off-Leash Dog Park, and a “Florida Cracker” airboat ride and tour for two.

The entrance fee is $250 per car for up to four people and includes lunch.

Other participating agencies include the National Navy UDT-SEAL Museum, the Veteran’s Council of Indian River County, and The Indian River County Sheriff’s Office Crime Prevention Unit and the K-9 Unit.
