Nancy B. Hedden, 83, of Vero Beach, passed away on April 4, 2014.
She is survived by her sister Barbara (William) Gullett; nieces Robin Waldron, and Nancy Mackey; her great-nephew AJ Mackey; and her beloved cat Birdie.
Hedden was born in Tarrytown, N.Y., on Dec. 30, 1930. She graduated from Teaneck High School in 1948. She furthered her education and received a BS at East Stroudsburg University and a Master’s Degree in Education from Penn State University in 1962.
She retired from East Greenbush Central School as a Guidance Counselor in 1985 and moved with her husband to Punta Gorda, Fla. Upon his death she moved to Vero Beach to be closer to her sister.
Hedden enjoyed her crossword puzzles, golf and her weekly bridge games. At her request there will not be any services. The disposition of her ashes will take place at her summer home in Hope, N.Y.
Hedden leaves behind many friends. She would not want us to grieve but to celebrate her life and remember all that was good. Memorial contributions can be made to a Hospice of your choice or the Vero Beach Humane Society.
