William Jansen, 74, of Vero Beach, passed away on March 24, 2014.
He is survived by his wife Adeline Joyce Jansen; daughters Robin (Randy) Doyle, Teresa Jansen, and Lou Ellen (Grant) Maynard; sons Jeff (Lisa) Jansen, Johnny (Patty) Jansen, William (Tammy) Jansen, Jr., and Warren Jansen; stepsons Joseph (Maryann) McCurdy, and Benjamin (Holly) McCurdy; stepdaughters Janette (Pat) Provost, Ann Marie Vincent, Patricia (Craig) Berry, and Virginia (Chris) Henson; brother Newell Jansen; 28 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents Cornelius and Ruth Jansen, and his sisters Mary, Johanna, Joyce, and Maxine.
Jansen was born in Saginaw, Mich. and moved to Vero Beach in 1984 from Turner, Mich.
He served in the U.S. Navy for 23 years, retiring as a Chief Petty Officer, and was a veteran of the Vietnam War. He served aboard SWIFT boats in Vietnam, and also served aboard the USS Macandlas, of which he is a plank owner, and the USS Papago.
Upon retiring from the U.S. Navy he went to work for AR Utilities as an underground installer. In recent years he had been calling BINGO at St. John of the Cross BINGO nights.

The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. on Thursday, March 27, at Strunk Funeral Home in Vero Beach with a Life Celebration Service beginning at 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
