INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — Auctioneer Wesley Davis and Mother Nature put a fire under the 4-H bidders – some fanning themselves as temperatures reached near 90 degrees.
“Thanks for taking your time, it’s only an auction,” Davis said, addressing the crowd.
Approximately 100 animals were auctioned off Saturday, including steer, swine, rabbits, as well as citrus trees.
After bidders won, they paid the price they bid, signed the contract, and had their picture taken with the animal or tree.
“How else are you going to get your picture taken with a pretty little lady without your wife getting angry?” asked Davis.
