Main Library hosts ‘A Land Remembered’ Feb. 21

INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — The Indian River County Main Library will host “A Land Remembered” on Friday, Feb. 21 at 2 p.m. “A Land Remembered” is an unforgettable tribute to one Florida’s most popular writers, Patrick Smith.

The author’s son, Rick Smith, a professional media produce and avid fan of his father’s work, is presenting a high energy, multimedia experience about his famous father, his life and the experiences that led him to write his books.

Rick’s shows combines his own quirky brand of humor and storytelling with videos, family photos, music, sound and visual effects to bring this writer’s colorful life into focus. Patrick makes video appearances throughout the program to tell fascinating and humorous stories about his life.

Few if any books have captured the spirit and colorful history of Florida as had Patrick Smith’s beloved novel, A Land Remembered. It has been said many times that people should be issued a copy of A Land Remembered when they cross the Florida state line.

Here is your opportunity to get to know the author as his son, Rick, takes the stage to delight audiences with a multimedia show about his father and the extraordinary experiences e had which were necessary for him to write with such authority of Florida pioneers, the Seminoles, migrant workers, “river rats” of Mississippi, and so much more.
