4-H hosts 3rd Annual Head Heart Hands Health Hustle 5k Run/Walk Feb. 1

INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — The Indian River County 4H Foundation Inc. will be holding a fund-raiser on Feb. 1 – its 3rd Annual Head Heart Hands Health Hustle 5k Run/Walk.

The event will be held at Riverside Park with a 1-mile kids fun run starting at 7:15 a.m. The 5K run/walk will follow at 7:30 a.m.

The children involved in the 4H programs set up booths with their presentations they have put together, presentations put together as part of their normal program of 4H. It is an opportunity for runners of Indian River and surrounding counties to not only run/walk a 5k for activity but to also get to know about 4-H, which is about more than just the projects (steer, swine, citrus trees, rabbits, chickens, goats). It is about community involvement, a structured program in which they learn responsibility, deadlines, etc. that has helped them to learn great life lessons to help shape them in a positive way.
