Pelican Island Preservation Society meeting

SEBASTIAN — Charlie Pelizza, Manager of the Pelican Island National Wildlife Refuge Complex, will be the speaker at the Pelican Island Preservation Society (PIPS) general meeting.

Charlie will give an update on the activities at the four refuges he manages as part of the complex. He will also talk about the change in philosophy of the refuge system under the leadership of Sally Jewell, the new Secretary of the Department of the Interior.

The PIPS meeting will be held on Monday, Oct. 28, at 7 p.m. at the North Indian River County Library, located at 1001 Sebastian Blvd. in Sebastian.
