Downtown Friday Halloween Party

VERO BEACH — Get in costume and in character for Main Street Vero Beach’s Downtown Friday Halloween Party on Oct. 25 from 5:30-8:30 p.m. (new hours through May) along 14th Ave. in Historic Downtown Vero Beach.

A hauntingly, good time is planned with: a costume contest at 6:30 p.m. for kids and at 7:30 p.m. for adults with prizes awarded, the Movies Come Alive Haunted House inside the Historic Florida Theatre, witchy tunes, and special treats.

“We are thrilled to have The RetroRockers Band perform,” said Rick Wycoff, Downtown Friday Entertainment Chair.

Vero Beach locals in the band include Steve Milligan on lead vocals, guitar, harp, and keyboards, Dave Marotto on bass, Bill P. on lead guitar and vocals, Mark on keyboards and vocals, and Jerry, Joe, and Kimmy on percussion and vocals.

“They are highly motivated and dedicated and have been in the music business for over 30 years having played in many groups around the Treasure Coast and shared the stage with Santana, Ziggy Marley, Grand Funk Railroad, The Chiffons, and Paul Revere and The Raiders, to name a few,” added Wycoff.

“The RetroRockers will play songs from the 50’s, 60’s, 70’s, and beyond the grave in keeping with the “spirit” of the night, and the band can’t wait to perform on Oct. 25 and to see all of you there,” explained Steve Milligan.

Along with October being a month known for candy and creepy crawlers, it is also Domestic Violence Awareness Month. Therefore, it only seems fitting that SafeSpace is the chosen Charity of the Month.

SafeSpace is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization which offers victims of domestic violence safety, support, and education empowering them to create an independent life, free from violence.

SafeSpace is the only certified, domestic violence center saving lives 24/7 and preventing domestic violence throughout the Treasure Coast. Shelter facilities for victims are located in Martin and Indian River Counties.

SafeSpace will never deny services to victims of domestic violence and their dependents based on race, gender, age, religion, political belief, national origin, immigration status, physical or mental disability, marital status, sexual orientation, or language spoken.
