City of Sebastian’s Community Night Out

SEBASTIAN — On Tuesday, Oct. 1, citizens throughout the City of Sebastian and the surrounding areas are being invited to join forces with thousands of communities nationwide for the 30th Annual Community “National Night Out” Crime and Drug Prevention Event.

National Night Out is designed to heighten crime and drug prevention awareness, generate support for and participation in, local anti-crime & personal safety efforts. Ultimately, the end result is to strengthen neighborhood spirit through community, business, and local law enforcement partnerships.

Our intention is to send a message to criminals letting them know neighborhoods are organized, watching out for each other, and fighting back.

From 5:30-7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 1, we are asking our residents to spend the evening outside with their neighbors, local businesses, law enforcement, and the “GFWC Sebastian Woman’s Club” at Riverview Park in the City of Sebastian.

The Sebastian Police Department will be hosting a variety of special events, K-9 demonstrations, multi-agency law enforcement displays, fire rescue equipment, law enforcement marine vessels, child fingerprinting/ ID, American Red Cross, and many, many more.

Our neighbors who come by and visit will be treated to many crime prevention tips but also get to see Holmes Regional’s “Firstflight” Helicopter and the 3 time world champion “2nd Amendment” Racing Superboat.

For all our heroes, there will be a blood drive & collection of non-perishable food to benefit our local Ecumenical Council Food Pantry.

Learn about home and vehicle alarm and safety improvements and your local crime stoppers.

Hot dogs and beverages will be available while they last.

Meet officers, troopers, and agents with federal, state, and local agencies.

Help us by joining the Sebastian Police Department and other local businesses and agencies in an effort to prevent crime and victimization.
