VERO BEACH — Billed as the “premier obstacle course series in the world,” the “Tough Mudder,” a 12 mile race designed to test strength, stamina, mental grit, and camaraderie, will test Floridians’ mettle on Nov. 2 and 3 in River Ranch, FL.
The new upstart company, Adventure Training Vero, plans to run an eight week training program to whip potential “tough mudders” into shape for the grueling race, beginning with a kick-off party on Sept. 7 at 8 a.m.
All “tough mudder” wannabes are invited to come out and register for a mini-mudder challenge. The mini-mudder challenge will give race participants a taste of what the real deal will feel like, and perhaps motivate them to sign up for the training program.
Adventure Training Vero will offer two training options. The first option, The Basic Mudder, includes eight training sessions held on eight consecutive Saturdays at 8:30 a.m. The cost is $100.
The second option, The Deluxe Mudder, includes eight training sessions held on eight consecutive Saturdays at 8:30 a.m, plus additional Tuesday and Thursday sessions at 6:30 p.m. The cost of the second option is $250.
The training sessions kick off Sept. 7 and run through Oct. 26.
Cofounded in 2012 by trainers Beth Ratliff, Brian Bedard, and Ron Toperzer, the company’s mission is to train individuals in a fun and creative environment.
