Treasure Coast Food Bank welcomes Scherpf and Jackson

VERO BEACH — Joseph Scherpf and David Jackson have been named to Treasure Coast Food Bank’s board of directors.

“Both Joe and David have been extremely supportive of Treasure Coast Food Bank and have seen the operation firsthand through many of the programs we run. They bring not only knowledge but leadership and compassion to the board, and we’re looking forward to having them serve as members of the board,” said Board President Miguel Coty.

Scherpf, along with his wife, Cynthia, have been dedicated sponsors and supporters of Treasure Coast Food Bank and were instrumental in helping establish Backpack and School Pantry programs at area schools.

The couple moved to Vero Beach in 1999 upon Joseph’s retirement from a career in accounting and finance. Scherpf holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Kentucky and an MBA from Columbia University.

Jackson is Director of Community Relations for Congressman Bill Posey, whose district includes Indian River County, and has participated with Treasure Coast Food Bank’s Hunger Free Communities Coalition.

Jackson holds a bachelor’s degree from Howard University and a master’s degree from George Washington University. Previously, Jackson worked as Economic Development Specialist for the city of Cocoa and for Brevard County’s Pretrial Release Program.
