Police say “Lock It or Lose It”

VERO BEACH — Recently there has been an increase in auto burglaries reported west of 20th Ave. between 14th St. and Atlantic Blvd.

All of the vehicles were reported to have been unlocked at the time and parked at the owner’s residence. The items stolen range from loose change to wallets and personal electronic devices.

The Vero Beach Police Department would like to remind everyone to secure their vehicle anytime it is left unattended. This includes your own driveway.

If you observe anyone acting suspiciously in your neighborhood, please call the police department immediately. Waiting even a few minutes can give the suspect enough time to leave the area undetected.

The Vero Beach Police Department non-emergency number is (722) 978-4600; for emergencies, please dial 911.

The Uneighbors program is provided free of charge. This is made possible by the commitment of local businesses in the community. We ask that whenever possible you visit the sponsors in your area.
