VERO BEACH — One of the primary goals at Lighthouse Art and Framing is to extend art education to the community of Vero Beach. While schools on a national level cut back art programs, we increase our number of classes to accommodate the thirst for an artistic understanding.
Our children’s art classes are taught by Megan G. Hoots, a graduate of the Savannah College of Art and Design.
Hoots’ background in Art History provides a comprehensive approach to art lessons, beginning with an informal lecture about an art movement, and ending with one or more studio projects relating to the movement.
This approach elevates to a higher standard the typical “arts and crafts” style camp for children.
In our gallery is an exhibit of some of our student’s very best works, pulled from a wide range of ages and rendered in a multitude of media. These works illustrate the importance of cultivating the innate artistic ability in our youngest generation.
Proceeds of the sale will be split between the artists and to Hibiscus Children’s Center so that they can continue enriching the lives of children throughout south Florida.
For over 27 years, Hibiscus has provided a safe haven helping abused, abandoned, and neglected children through prevention, recovery, residential, and shelter programs.
The “Annual Student Show and Sale” will be on view in the gallery throughout the month of July and showcases the talents of Lighthouse’s young, aspiring students.
The student’s artwork will also be featured at the First Friday Downtown Art Stroll on Friday, July 5, between 5 and 8 p.m.
