Space Coast Symphony concert salutes U.S.A.

VERO BEACH — Indian River County residents will soon have the chance to experience “The American Dream,” a free patriotic concert to honor our nation, presented by the brass, woodwind, and percussion players of the Space Coast Symphony Orchestra.

The performance is scheduled for Saturday, June 22, at 2 p.m., at the Emerson Center at 1590 27th Ave. in Vero Beach.

Concert-goers can expect to hear rousing marches by John Philip Sousa, along with works by John Williams and other American composers.

The women of the Space Coast Symphony Chorus will perform several works with the musical ensemble, including the Battle Hymn of the Republic and Hymn to the Fallen from the film “Saving Private Ryan.”

Beth Green will sing Lee Greenwood’s God Bless the U.S.A., and vocalist Sherry MacLean will open the concert with a stirring rendition of the Star Spangled Banner.

The free concert will also feature works that honor the men and women who have served in the United States Armed Forces. A free ticket is required for the concert, which is expected to fill up quickly.

Tickets may be reserved through the orchestra website at www.SpaceCoastSymphony.org or by calling toll free (855) 252-7276.

Artistic Director Aaron T. Collins is pleased to present “The American Dream” as a free gift to the people of Indian River County.

“We all share a love of this great nation. Those of us in the Space Coast Symphony are happy to proclaim our national pride with this free concert for our fellow Americans,” said Collins.
