The American Red Cross receives Dyer Difference Award

VERO BEACH — Dyer Chevrolet and Dyer Mazda Subaru are pleased to announce the 60th recipient of the Dyer Difference Award: The American Red Cross.

This being the 60th award means that the Dyer Difference Award has been awarded to non-profits for 5 years totaling $180,000. The award salutes a non-profit organization in Indian River County that makes a difference in our community.

Dyer Chevrolet and Dyer Mazda Subaru presented the Dyer Difference Award along with a $3,000 check to the May recipient, American Red Cross, for their event: The 5th annual Hurricane Hangar Party.

“Our mission is two-fold. One is to raise funding for the Red Cross, and the other is to make people aware that hurricane season starts June 1,” said Sarah Ruwe, Executive Director for the chapter.

Over 1,500 people attended the May event, and it was a great success.

“We are always happy to support the American Red Cross. It’s after events like the recent tornadoes in Oklahoma where we are reminded of the important role the American Red Cross plays in disaster relief,” explained Tatiana Dyer.
