VERO BEACH — Although Fräbel REIMAGINED concluded on April 30, one of the sculptures featured in the exhibition will remain on permanent display at McKee Botanical Garden.
Fräbel REIMAGINED showcased the work of renowned glass sculptor Hans Godo Fräbel. The exhibition, which ran from November through April, was one of McKee’s most successful to date.
It earned praise and attracted 27,378 visitors from all over the world. Fräbel REIMAGINED surpassed Fräbel’s 2008-2009 Reflections of Glass on Water exhibition, which set a new standard for art and culture at McKee.
Inspired by the response to the exhibition, Fräbel Studio has offered its Tower sculpture on permanent loan to the garden. Tower, which is a larger version of Fräbel’s Tower of Babel, is an abstract sculpture comprised of a series of spheres connected to rods that reflects and renders a beautiful play with light.
The sculpture is located in a waterway at the end of McKee’s Main Jungle Trail.
“We are deeply moved by this gesture, and believe it is reflective of the positive relationship that has flourished between Fräbel Studio and McKee Botanical Garden. Frabel’s Tower is a perfect complement to the garden’s landscape, and we’re honored to include Vero Beach among the list of global destinations where Fräbel’s artwork can be seen,” said McKee Executive Director Christine Hobart.
