Judged courthouse winners announced

VERO BEACH — The first Vero Beach Art Club annual judged courthouse exhibit has been on display at the Indian River Courthouse, 2000 16th Ave. in Vero Beach, since April 12 and features the work by 32 art club members. The exhibit will run through July 11.

Judge Ellen Fischer presented the award ribbons to the winners at the Vero Beach Art Club’s annual luncheon held at Osceola Bistro on May 2. Fischer said the artwork was very diverse, as she tried to represent the wide spectrum of mediums in those she chose for top awards.

Best In Show: Carol Bennett for “Blue Horse” Watercolor

First Place: Richard Ramirez for “Octipot” Ceramic

Second Place: Gregory Ingerson for “Warrior” Mixed Media of Pen, Ink and Colored Pencil

Third Place: Lee G. Smith for “Bill Painting At Crab-E-Bill’s” Acrylic

The courthouse exhibits are sponsored by the Cultural Council of Indian River County under its Art in Public Places program. The Vero Beach Art Club members’ work may also be seen at the Indian River County Main Library year-round, offering art for public viewing, and may also be purchased from each exhibit.
