INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — Indian River County’s reclaimed water rates will remain unchanged, the Board of County Commissioners has decided. That rate is 67 cents per 1,000 gallons.
The rate was due for an automatic increase to 74 cents per 1,000 gallons in January 2014 and another increase each year following. However, county staff determined that the department’s costs for reclaimed water are currently being met under the 67-cent rate and there is no need for a rate hike.
Staff will continue to evaluate the rate annually to determine if there is a need to change the rate in the future.
