INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — Before we know it, summer will be here, and the quest for fun and enriching activities for children will begin.
Indian River County has a wealth of programs and camps available for parents to choose from, and Whole Child seeks to make the selection process easier.
A Junior League of Indian River initiative, Whole Child helps families get connected to programs and services in our community through a confidential web-based system.
Whether they are in need of health care, educational programs, or enrichment activities, parents can find it all in one place: at www.WholeChildIRC.org.
As the summer months approach, Whole Child is working to expand its network of providers that offers activities for children.
“Day camps, vacation bible schools, karate lessons, art classes; we want to include it all,” said Executive Director Kelley Williams.
Non-profits, businesses, churches, and organizations are invited to become a Whole Child provider. Providers can include detailed program descriptions, eligibility requirements, enrollment deadlines, and other pertinent information on their provider profile page.
“Being a Whole Child provider not only creates added exposure for your organization, but it helps parents identify what programs are available in our county and which ones are right for their child,” said Williams.

The program is free for families to use and accessible 24 hours a day.
Through a six-dimensional assessment, Whole Child assists parents in identifying their needs and connects them with service providers in our community.
The Whole Child philosophy is grounded in the notion that communities must work together to ensure that children have access to all the resources they need to succeed and thrive.
“Our goal is to empower families and make it easier for them to access quality programs,” Williams added.
The Junior League of Indian River is an organization of women committed to promoting voluntarism, developing the potential of women, and improving communities through the effective action of trained volunteers. Its purpose is exclusively educational and charitable.
