Adobe Illustrator skills classes offered at IRSC Mueller Campus

VERO BEACH — The Corporate and Community Training Institute at Indian River State College is offering an “Illustrator 1 – Business Applications” course.

Those looking for a course designed to improve your skills in the competitive industry of Graphic Design and wanting to learn or improve their skills in Illustrator will want to sign up for this class.

Participants will learn how to work with the Illustrator interface including palettes, tools, menus, and shortcuts and will find out about valuable techniques for work in Illustrator.

Class participants will also introduce the full range of file formats, experiment with filters, create unique imagery, learn to use Illustrator as a design and creative tool of visual expression and more.

Kristin Staats, Adjunct Instructor with the IRSC Advanced Technology Department, received a Bachelor of Science degree in Media in Arts and Animation from The Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale.

Kristin has been working in the graphic design industry for 10 years. Her experience includes concept, design, and production of marketing materials, including: logos, brochure designs, ad designs, truck wrap design, photo-retouching, business card designs, letterhead designs, pocket folder designs, and map designs.

She also worked creating floorplans, site plans, and elevations for large real estate developments.

The “Illustrator 1 – Business Applications” course will be held at the IRSC Mueller Campus at 6155 College Ln. in Vero Beach on Thursdays, April 11 through May 9, from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m.

The cost is $179 for the five week course.
